Ok I have finally succumbed and lost my live journal virginity. I feel so dirty! =p Um so ok I am sitting in front of the tv. Just got done updating some astrology info for our local Theseus project class. Thinking about what to bring to NOTOCON! Need a new camera - our current one is archaic, could almost paint an image with the amount of time it takes. Ok thats enough mental meandering for my first night. Dont want to overexert my long unused typing muscles.

I have a Canon A95 digital camera. Pretty nice 5 megapixel. Uses compact flash cards so you can go up to 2GB (maybe 4GB if you can find it in Flash RAM, but it doesn't support the IBM/Hitachi Microdrives).
Oh and it takes 4 AA batteries (much easier than the special batteries some cameras require).

There is some shot delay with the AutoFocus if you try to take a candid snap with it. I don't take pictures of people running or moving cars or such that often so it doesn't affect me too much. If the subject is relatively still (i.e. not moving closer or further away and staying in frame), you can do the "half depress" method which prefocuses and then you wait till they finally smile and press the button the rest of the way (taking the picture).

I've had it for about a year (IIRC) and haven't had any problems with it at all.

No shit...that's the very one I got tonight. I really like it. It also has video, so you can catch some clips, complete with sound.
I like the ergonomics of it too, with the pronounced 'grip' so it doesn't slip out of your hand.
